Kamaliya is a Ukrainian singer who began performing with a band called A Class as a teenager. Her debut album came out in 2000, and its title track 'Butterflies' became a hit in Ukraine. She followed that with albums like 'Believe' in 2003 and 'Passion' in 2007.
Her music reached audiences in Russia, India, and the United States through touring. In 2003, she married British businessman Mohammad Zahoor, and they later had two daughters. She continued recording, with songs like 'Caught Up' and 'I'm Alive' appearing in her catalog.
In 2008, she faced plagiarism accusations over her song 'No More Kamaliya,' but she kept working. She has released several more albums since, including 'Butterflies' in 2020.
