Kamikazes

Kamikazes formed in Brazil during the mid-1990s, largely as a tribute act to the rock band Mamonas Assassinas. Their early material, like the track '1406 II -tributo à mamonas assassinas,' made that connection explicit. The group's lineup included Dinho Ouro Preto on vocals, Digão Maia on guitar, Bruno Gouveia on bass, and Rodrigo Santos on drums.

In 2004, guitarist Gabriel Mantovani died in an accident. The band continued afterward, releasing albums such as 'Tudo Passa' in 2002 and 'Nação Kamikaze' in 2013. Their songs, including '15 Pra Meia Noite' and 'Coração de Isopor,' often carried the same blend of rock energy and humorous lyrics that characterized their inspiration.

While some listeners criticized them for being too derivative of Mamonas Assassinas, Kamikazes maintained a steady following in Brazil. Their performances kept a focus on high energy and audience connection, built around that familiar, playful rock style.
