His 1966 debut album featured the title track 'Evet Mi Hayır Mı,' which became a hit and established his presence in Turkish music. He followed it with albums like 'Gözlerimde Yaşlar Var' in 1967 and 'Ayrılmam' in 1970.
His songs often dealt with emotional themes, as heard in tracks like 'Mutluluk İstiyorum' and 'Ağlama Gönlüm.' In 1971, he released the album 'Sensiz Olamam,' which included the song 'Vatanım' that drew mixed reactions for its nationalistic lyrics. He worked with other Turkish artists including Nilüfer and Zerrin Özer.
Akkor performed with a band that included guitarist Rıza Şenel and drummer Atilla Atasoy. His music remained popular through the decades, with songs like 'Sana Ben Kulum' and 'Sev Yeter' continuing to be heard in Turkey.
