Kandle formed in Los Angeles in 2018 with Dakota on vocals and guitar, Ethan on lead guitar, Luke on bass, and Chris on drums. Their debut single 'All That I Need' came out that same year, followed by the EP 'Awakening' in 2019.
In 2020, drummer Chris was diagnosed with a serious illness, which led to some postponed shows. The band released the single 'The Longest Night' that year, then their first album 'In the Shadow of the Storm' in 2021.
Their sound has incorporated more atmospheric elements over time, as heard on the 2023 EP 'Tides'. Other songs in their catalog include 'Not Listening' and 'Know My Name'.
