Kang Daniel first appeared on the K-pop survival show "Produce 101 Season 2" and debuted in 2017 as part of the temporary group Wanna One. After the group disbanded in 2019, he started releasing music on his own. His debut EP "Color on Me" came out that July and did well commercially.

He runs his own agency called Konnect Entertainment, which he established after a contract dispute with his former management. As a solo artist, he's put out several EPs like "Cyan," "Magenta," and "Yellow," along with the 2022 studio album "The Story."
