Kangaia de Luxo

Kangaia de Luxo formed in São Paulo in 1994, with founding members including vocalist Pedro Bial, guitarist Luciano Figueiredo, bassist Pedro Bergamini, and drummer Ivan Conti. They released their debut album 'Kangaia' the following year, mixing Afro-Brazilian rhythms with funk and rock elements.

Their 1997 album 'O Som do Samba' contained 'Machuca Demais,' a song that became their most recognizable track. The band continued recording through the late 1990s and early 2000s with albums like 'Beleza' and 'Roda Viva.'

Other musicians like Marina Lima, Fernanda Takai, and Mário Siperman played with the group at various points. Their lyrics sometimes addressed social issues, which occasionally drew attention beyond just the music itself.
