Kangen Band

Kangen Band formed in 2005 in Bandar Lampung, Sumatra, with Andika Mahesa on vocals, Dodhy and Lim on guitars, Bebe on bass, and Izzy on drums. They spent their early years playing local shows and working through the usual financial struggles of a new band.

Their 2007 debut album included the song "Cinta Sampai Mati," which became a major hit across Indonesia and Southeast Asia. That track's straightforward emotional pull connected with listeners in a way that defined much of their subsequent work.

Later albums like "Selamat Tinggal," "Pujaan Hati," and "Aku, Kamu, dan Dia" continued in a similar vein of pop-rock ballads. Andika's personal life sometimes drew attention away from the music, but the band kept recording and performing.
