Kanibal formed in Fortaleza in the late 1990s, with Marcelo D2 on vocals, Pedro Furtado on guitar, Jorge Du Peixe on bass, and André X on drums. Their 1999 debut album 'É o Tchan no Brasil' included 'Eu Vou Pro Hawaii,' a song that caught on nationally with its mix of rock and tropical rhythms.
After D2 left in 2003 to go solo, the band kept recording. They put out albums like 'Corpo Fechado' in 2005 and 'Cidade do Samba' in 2008, followed by 'Novos Horizontes' in 2015. Other tracks from their catalog include 'Milagre' and 'Isabela.'
