Karkaos

Karkaos formed in 1995 with vocalist and guitarist Sacha Siron, bassist Jean-Louis 'Kiko' Colosimo, and drummer Stéphane 'Stef' Paut. Siron and Colosimo have been the consistent members through various lineup changes. Their early albums include 'Anthems of Desolation' from 1997 and 'The Triumph of Darkness' from 1999.

Their sound draws from black metal, death metal, and doom metal, with influences like Celtic Frost, Bathory, and Mayhem. Songs like 'Ashes' and 'Awaiting the Clock's Last Turn' feature the heavy riffs and intense vocals that define their approach. They released 'Ashes' as an album in 2006, followed by 'Torn from the Void' in 2010.

Karkaos has maintained a dedicated following with their uncompromising style, though their thematic focus on darker subjects has sometimes drawn criticism. They continue to work within the extreme metal sphere without softening their musical or lyrical edges.
