KARL

KARL formed in Los Angeles in the late 1970s with Jason Williams on vocals, Jake Mason on guitar, and Tony Lopez on drums. They put out a string of albums starting with 1980's 'Black Rebel' and kept a steady touring schedule through the 1980s and into the 1990s. Mike Black joined on bass in 1982, and Chris Jones came in on keyboards in 1986.

Their song 'Rock In The Vein' became a signature track, the kind of straightforward rock anthem that connected with listeners who wanted something direct and unpolished. The band had a reputation for being uncompromising about their sound, which sometimes meant friction with labels and management.
