Karl-Erik Taukar was born in Pärnu, Estonia in 1962. He formed a band under his own name in the late 1980s, and their music drew from traditional Estonian folk while incorporating rock and avant-garde elements.
Their 1994 song "Segased Lood" became their most recognized work. The track's melancholic melody and lyrics about love and loss resonated with listeners in Estonia.
Taukar released several albums over the following years, including "Püha Süü" in 1997 and "Mina Jää" in 2000. The band featured various musicians throughout its existence, with Taukar remaining the central figure.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
