KARMIC

KARMIC is a Dutch electronic music project formed by Joost van den Broek and Jorn van Deynhoven. Their sound blends ambient textures with melodic electronica, often built around van Deynhoven's vocals and van den Broek's production, which draws from classical piano training. They've released albums like 'Higher Self' in 2015, 'In Between' in 2018, and 'Awake' in 2021.

Songs like 'Higher Self' and 'Little Lucille' show their approach: layered synthesizers, steady rhythms, and lyrics that lean toward introspection. Their work tends to avoid conventional pop structures, favoring atmospheric builds and reflective themes. Drummer Jelmer Adema has joined them for live performances, adding a more organic pulse to the electronics.

They've maintained a consistent output over the past decade, sticking to their blend of ethereal melodies and electronic production without much shift toward mainstream trends. The music doesn't really fit into dance-floor categories, sitting closer to a kind of meditative, melodic electronica.
