Kartiel is a Colombian band from Cali, formed by Juan Camilo Vasquez, Andres Felipe Silva, Ruben David Vasquez, and Alejandro Mendoza. They started making music together with an interest in urban rhythms and storytelling. Their debut album 'Urbania' came out in 2016 and included the track 'Bailando Sola,' which became their most recognizable song.
In 2018 they released 'Sin Tabú' and followed it with 'Eclipse' in 2020. Their sound leans into Latin trap and urban pop. They've worked with other artists like J Balvin, Maluma, and Pitbull, and some of their music has appeared in TV shows and films.
In 2019 there were some plagiarism accusations around their song 'Loco Contigo,' which the band addressed by defending their work. They kept recording and putting out music after that.
