Es war a Sonntag, ich spazierte in dem Wald,

So sprach sie zu mir und es freute mich sehr.
So war dieser Tag für mich nicht leer.
Ich fragte sie, was sie sich wohl wünscht vom Leb´n,
drauf hat sie zur Antwort mir geb´n:
„Nur Gesundheit als höchstes Gut auf der Welt
wünsch´ ich mir, weil nur das für mich zählt !
Alles Gut und Geld hat für mich keinen Sinn,
es hilft nichts, wenn krank ich bin."
So machten wir zwei uns einen schönen Tag,
sie freute sich, daß jemand mit ihr sprach.
Und sie sagte: „Merk´ dir, eh du im Leben planst,
daß das größte Gut du niemals kaufen kannst.
„Nur Gesundheit als höchstes Gut auf der Welt
wünsch´ ich mir, weil nur das für mich zählt !
Alles Gut und Geld hat für mich keinen Sinn,
es hilft nichts, wenn krank ich bin."
