Kate Dearaugo started putting out music in the early 2000s. Her first album was called 'Whispers of the Wind,' and one of the songs from it, 'Most Beautiful Place,' did well enough to get her some attention. She has a mezzo-soprano voice that people tend to notice.
She kept making albums after that, like 'Aetheria' in 2005, 'Ephemeral' in 2010, and 'Elegy' in 2014. Other songs from her catalog include 'It's Obvious' and 'Maybe Tonight.' She works with a band that includes guitarist Darren Garvey, bassist Marcus Durant, and drummer Emily Carter.
Some of her music has a folk feel, and some of it leans more electronic. She has worked with other musicians, including cellist Yo-Yo Ma and producer David Foster. Her approach to making music has sometimes been described as unconventional.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
