Kaxa

Kaxa formed in Bogotá, Colombia in the early 2000s, with Juan David Restrepo and Diego Cadavid as founding members. They started blending Colombian folk rhythms with electronic production, which gave them some early attention in their local scene.

Their debut album 'Biométrica' came out in 2008, followed by 'Electricidad' in 2010 and 'Tiempo' in 2014. The track 'Animal Acuático' became their most recognizable song, with its layered rhythms and atmospheric vocals.

Their music sometimes touched on themes that sparked discussion, but they kept working within their own approach rather than shifting direction. They've remained a duo through their recordings, maintaining that core electronic sound with Colombian rhythmic elements woven through it.
