Kazzabe was a Cuban band formed in Havana in the early 1990s, led by vocalist Lázaro Ocaña. They drew from traditional Cuban rhythms along with Afro-beat and salsa influences. Their 1995 album 'Para Que Bailen los Niños' included the track 'Banana,' which became an international hit.
After 'Banana,' Kazzabe released albums like 'Sueños Malayos' in 1997 and 'El Son de la Calle' in 1999. They toured extensively, but internal conflicts led to departures of original members including Pedro Luis Ferrer and José Luis Cortés. Lázaro Ocaña remained the band's central figure through lineup changes.
Ocaña died in 2014, effectively ending the band's active period. Kazzabe's catalog includes later releases such as 'Cubano Soy' from 2001 and 'La Rumba de la Calle' from 2003.
