Kingsley Okonkwo, who performs as Kcee, first gained attention as half of the duo KC Presh with his cousin Presh. They had some popular tracks in the early 2000s, including 'Shokori Bobo' and 'Senorita'. He grew up in Ajegunle, a neighborhood in Lagos.
After the duo's run, Kcee went solo in 2012 with an album called 'Take Over'. The song 'Ogaranya' came out the following year and became his biggest solo hit. It's a high-energy Afropop track about wealth and celebration that got heavy radio play.
He's released a few more albums since then, like 'Attention to Detail' in 2017 and 'Eastern Conference' in 2019. There was some legal trouble around 2015 over a song called 'Pull Over', but that seems to have been resolved.
