Kele

Kele Okereke is best known as the frontman of Bloc Party, the English indie rock band that formed in the early 2000s. He began releasing solo work under the name Kele in 2010 with his debut album 'The Boxer,' which leaned into electronic, soul, and R&B influences rather than the band's guitar-driven sound. Later solo albums like 'Trick' in 2014 and 'Fatherland' in 2020 continued in that more personal, beat-oriented direction.

Some of his solo tracks, such as 'Coasting' and 'Everything You Wanted,' reflect a quieter, more reflective side compared to Bloc Party's urgency. He often works with vocal collaborators, like Lucy Taylor on 'What Did I Do?' and Jodie Scantlebury on 'Closer,' adding different textures to his productions.

While Bloc Party's catalog includes albums like 'Silent Alarm,' 'A Weekend in the City,' and 'Intimacy,' Kele's own recordings operate in a separate lane, less about rock-band arrangements, more about layered electronics and intimate songwriting. He hasn't stopped making music with the band, but his solo work clearly follows its own path.
