Kenia Tinôco came up in Rio de Janeiro, where she sang in a church choir as a child. She signed with the Brazilian label Som Livre and put out her debut album, 'Só Sei Amar Você,' in 1999. The single 'Foi Mesmo' from that record became a hit.
Her music includes songs like 'Argumento,' 'Detesto Enganos,' and 'Sem Vontades.' She recorded an album of Roberto Carlos covers in 2007 called 'Canta Roberto Carlos.'
She faced some criticism early on for being outspoken and having an unconventional style, but kept working. Her discography spans a couple of decades.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
