Khanh Ly

Khanh Ly started singing in Hanoi as a child, performing at local events in the 1950s. By the early 1960s she had become one of the prominent voices in Vietnamese popular music, working closely with composer Trinh Cong Son. Their collaborations produced songs like 'Ben Doi Hiu Quanh' and 'CHIỀU MỘT MÌNH QUA PHỐ' that became widely known.

Her music sometimes contained political undertones that drew attention from South Vietnamese authorities. She left Vietnam in 1975 after the fall of Saigon and continued performing while living in the United States.

In exile she kept recording and performing songs like 'DAU CHAN DIA DANG' and 'Ru Em Tung Ngon Xuan Nong' for audiences abroad. Her concerts were noted for their emotional quality and connection to Vietnamese listeners living outside their homeland.
