Archive material and source history

Kids Like Us formed in London around 2012. Their early single "Lantern Corps" got some attention with its synth-driven sound, and they put out a few releases like the Lantern Corps EP in 2013 and the album Modern Prometheus the following year. The band included Max Bernstein on vocals and guitar, Kyle Ryan on drums and synth, and Andrew Ryan on bass and synth.

Their music mixed electronic elements with alternative rock, and they kept putting out records through the 2010s, including The Phoenix Directive in 2017 and Between the Lines in 2020. Songs like "Asshat" and "Carry Your Ghost" show the kind of melodic, synth-backed writing they were doing. They had a bit of a public dispute in 2018 over some plagiarism claims that didn't stick, but mostly they just kept working.

They were sometimes described as an electropop band, though their sound had enough guitar and rock energy to feel a little less polished than that label might suggest. They never really broke huge, but they built a following for their particular blend of electronics and songcraft.
