Kill Devil Hill formed in 2009 with a lineup that included drummer Vinny Appice, who had played with Dio and Black Sabbath, guitarist Mark Zavon, bassist Rex Brown from Pantera, and vocalist Dewey Bragg. They put out a self-titled debut album in 2012, which featured songs like 'Hangman' and 'Strange.'
Their sound pulls from the heavy rock and metal traditions their members came from, with Appice's drumming and Brown's bass providing a familiar, weighty foundation. Tracks such as 'Voodoo Doll' and 'War Machine' show the band working in that straightforward, riff-driven style.
They haven't released new music in several years, but their two albums from the early 2010s remain for fans of that particular era of hard rock.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
