Killer

Killer came together in London toward the end of the 1970s, with vocalist Danny Wilde and guitarist Jack Malone at the front. They built a reputation on loud, energetic shows that pulled in a dedicated crowd. Their first album arrived in 1980, and the track 'Fire' from it caught on quickly, becoming a radio staple and pushing the band into wider recognition.

That early momentum carried them through the decade. They put out records like 'Blood and Thunder' in 1982 and 'Metalmorphosis' in 1984, sticking to a straightforward hard rock sound. Songs such as 'Airborne' and 'Operator' kept the guitars loud and the tempos driving, which worked for their audience even as musical tastes began to shift around them.

By the 1990s, the lineup had changed more than once, and the band's output became less frequent. They released 'Resurrection' in 1992 and 'Unbreakable' in 1995, but the cultural moment for their style of rock had largely passed. They kept playing shows for fans who remembered the earlier records, and occasional compilations like 2000's 'The Best of Killer' served as reminders of when they were a regular presence on rock radio.
