Killer Be Killed formed in 2014 when Max Cavalera from Soulfly and Sepultura, Greg Puciato from The Dillinger Escape Plan, Ben Koller from Converge, and Troy Sanders from Mastodon decided to work together. Their self-titled debut came out that same year, followed by a second album called 'Reluctant Hero' in 2020.
Their song 'Wings Of Feather And Wax' shows what they do well, mixing heavy riffs with melodic parts that feel both aggressive and thoughtful. Other tracks like 'Dream Gone Bad' and 'Melting Of My Marrow' follow a similar pattern, balancing intensity with moments that stick in your head.
Puciato left the band in 2022, which surprised some fans, but Cavalera, Sanders, and Koller have kept going. They haven't announced any new music since 'Reluctant Hero', but the two albums they've made so far stand on their own.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
