Killing Heidi was an Australian band fronted by Ella Hooper, with her brother Jesse on guitar. They formed in the late 1990s in Melbourne, later adding drummer Adam Thompson and bassist Warren Bloomer. Their debut single 'Weir' reached the top of the Australian charts in 2000.
Their first album 'Reflector' came out that same year, followed by 'Present' in 2001 and a self-titled album in 2004. Songs like '12345' and 'Mascara' became radio staples in Australia during that period. The band won several ARIA Awards during their six-year run.
Ella Hooper dealt with health issues that affected the band's touring schedule. Killing Heidi stopped performing together around 2006, though the Hooper siblings continued working on other musical projects separately.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
