King Clown QZL formed in 2004 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, with Rodrigo Pinheiro on vocals. Their early years weren't easy, shows didn't draw much attention, and money was tight. They kept at it, playing wherever they could and slowly building a following through steady touring.
Things changed in 2009 with their debut album 'O Reino dos Bufões.' The single 'Já Pensei Em Desistir' connected with listeners, its straightforward lyrics about doubt and persistence finding an audience. That song, along with others like 'A Morte É Consequência da Vida' and 'Visão de Sobrevivência,' gave the band some traction beyond their local scene.
They've put out several albums since then, including 'O Circo da Humanidade' in 2011 and 'A Dança dos Mortos' in 2014. The lineup settled with Pinheiro joined by André Pomba on bass, Bruno Peixoto on guitar, Adriano Ribeiro on drums, and Rafael Costa handling backing vocals.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
