Kinski Gallo

Kinski Gallo formed in Buenos Aires in the early 2000s, led by Mariano Castro. They started playing cumbia, a style that wasn't always taken seriously in mainstream Argentine music circles at the time. Their first album came out in 2007, simply called "Kinski Gallo."

Their track "Cumbia Del Corazon" became something of a calling card for them. It's the song people mention when they talk about the band. They kept recording through the 2010s, putting out albums like "Bailar de Cabotaje" in 2011 and "Historias de Una Playa de Verano" in 2015.

Some listeners thought they were straying too far from traditional cumbia by mixing in rock, pop, and electronic sounds. But that blend became part of what they did. Mariano Castro handled vocals and guitar, with Fed being another core member.
