His music tends toward romantic ballads, with songs like 'Água Com Açúcar' and 'Café e Amor' following that pattern. He's released more than twenty studio albums over his career, including 'Tudo Por Você' in 1995 and 'Infinito' in 2010.
In 2003, Novais faced a plagiarism case over the song 'Coração Cigano' that was settled out of court.
