Kleber Santtus came up in Campinas, São Paulo, and started playing guitar around age 12. His early work shows the influence of Brazilian folk and international songwriters like Caetano Veloso and Bob Dylan.
In 1988 he put out his debut album 'Viagem,' which included the song 'Noite Fria.' That track became his best-known work, with its spare arrangement and melancholy vocal delivery finding an audience across Brazil.
He followed it with another album called 'Noite Fria' in 1989. Later songs like 'Um Novo Day' kept to a similar introspective style, though his personal life sometimes drew more attention than his music.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
