Knight Area

Knight Area formed in London in the late 1990s, with Tom Rowland on vocals, Mark Gray on guitar, Adam Powell on bass, and John Mercer on drums. Their debut album 'The Knight Area' came out in 2002 and included the song 'A Different Man,' which became their most recognizable track. The album showed a range from intense rock to quieter moments like 'Lost in the Sea.'

'A Different Man' got significant radio play on alternative stations and earned the band a Brit Award nomination for Best New Artist. They followed with albums like 'The Weight of the World' in 2005, 'Echoes of the Past' in 2010, and 'The Last Dance' in 2018. Other songs in their catalog include 'A Million Lives,' 'Conspiracy,' and 'Courteous Love.'

While the core four members stayed consistent, they sometimes worked with additional musicians like keyboardist Sarah Jones and guitarists Paul Thompson and Chris Lees. Their music drew from grunge and Britpop influences but developed its own sound over their recording years.
