Knocked Loose formed in Oldham County, Kentucky in 2014 with Bryan Garris on vocals, Isaac Hale on guitar, and Kevin Kaine on bass. Their early years involved steady touring, and they put out their debut EP 'Laugh Tracks' in 2016. That record established their sound, built around heavy breakdowns and Garris's strained, urgent vocals.
They followed it with the album 'A Different Shade of Blue,' which kept their hardcore foundation but worked in more melodic and introspective elements. Songs like '...And Still I Wander South' and 'Billy No Mates' from that period became staples in their set. The band's lineup has shifted some over time, with guitarist Isaac Hale departing in 2019.
A track like 'Mistakes Like Fractures,' released in 2021, shows how they've honed their approach. It's a tense, driving song that deals plainly with regret and frustration, themes that run through much of their work. They've continued putting out music, including 'Where Light Divides The Holler' and 'A Serpent's Touch.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
