When a man wakes up on a city street with a can begging for your change

You gotta step yourself back and reprioritize this lifestyle that you've gained

When a girl wakes up on a boulevard and wonders who the hell shot her dad?

Well I would think twice before I open my mouth and complain that the traffic is bad

These are the days where we determine who we are (hey hey)

These are the days we show our true colors

Cause the lives we lead, addicted to the paths we roam

Well living day by day off the government ain't enough to compensate

for the shame and the pain that these people face from the unemployment rate

We could take this on our own, why should we give a shit

We aren't human beings, just washed up hypocrites

This is the state of broken homes, misguided youth

A state of violence and abuse
