Knuckle Puck started as a group of high school friends from Vernon Hills, Illinois in 2012. The band includes Joe Taylor on vocals, Kevin Kaine and Nick Casasanto on guitar, and Ryan Rumchaks on bass. They put out early EPs like 'The Weight That You Buried' in 2012 and 'While I Stay Secluded' in 2014, which caught attention with their straightforward pop-punk sound.
In 2015, their album 'Copacetic' became a turning point, earning critical praise and helping define their place in the scene. Songs like 'Pretense' and 'No Good' from that period show their knack for blending melodic hooks with earnest, sometimes angsty lyrics.
Their track 'Double Helix' and the collaboration 'Breathe (feat. Derek Sanders)' are among the songs that have kept them relevant in pop-punk circles. The band has faced challenges, including drummer John Siorek's cancer diagnosis in 2014, which they've addressed through their music without letting it dominate their story. They've stayed focused on writing and performing, maintaining a consistent presence through tours and releases.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
