Kollateral

Kollateral was a four-piece band from Medellín, Colombia, with Criss on vocals, Elkin on guitar, Jhon on bass, and Franko on drums. They worked in a space between hip-hop and rock, though that mix drew some skepticism from listeners who preferred one style over the other. Their 2017 debut album, also called Futuro, included the single of the same name that got them noticed outside Colombia.

That song, Futuro, became their calling card, a melodic, anthemic track that showed how they could weave rap verses with guitar-driven arrangements. They followed it with Alienígenas in 2018 and Somos in 2021, each record letting them stretch the fusion a bit further, sometimes bringing in funk or reggae touches. The band kept at it without shifting their approach much, even as the sound rubbed some purists the wrong way.
