Kool Keith Dr. Octagon

Kool Keith Dr. Octagon came together in the early 1990s around rapper Kool Keith, with producers KutMasta Kurt and Dan the Automator handling the beats. Their 1996 debut album 'Dr. Octagonecologyst' became a cult favorite, known for its surreal lyrics and experimental sound that mixed hip-hop with funk and electronic elements. The track '27 Shots' from that album gives a good sense of their approach.

Keith's rapping style leaned toward stream-of-consciousness delivery with abstract imagery and a dry sense of humor.
