Korr is a Finnish rock band that started in 2000 with vocalist Sami Yli-Sirniö, guitarist Janne Särkelä, and drummer Jukka Tiensuu. They put out their self-titled debut album in 2003, which included the track 'As Beauty Slowly Dies.' That song got some radio play and helped people notice them.
Their sound tends toward the atmospheric, with Yli-Sirniö's vocals floating over arrangements that pull from rock and darker, gothic textures. Lyrically, they often work with themes of loss or searching. Other songs in their catalog include 'Diabolus' and 'Sacrifice.'
In 2005, a tour was canceled because of Yli-Sirniö's health issues. Later, in 2013, a video surfaced showing him making offensive remarks during a show, which led to some canceled dates. The band apologized, and things quieted down.
They've released several albums since, like 'My Canvas, Your Pain' in 2006, 'Burning Lake' in 2011, and 'Dawn of Redemption' in 2021. The lineup grew to include bassist Arttu Malkki and keyboardist Tuomas Riskala.
