Kortiz

Kortiz formed in 2013 around singer-songwriter Lily Coren and multi-instrumentalist Dan Tuffy. Their early performances in London drew attention, but it was the song 'Where Have You Been' that brought them wider recognition. That track's blend of electro-pop with introspective lyrics became something of a template for their sound.

Their debut album was called 'The Paradise of Tomorrow,' which explored themes of love and loss. They followed it with records like 'All the Things That Never Were' and 'The Maze,' where they incorporated more dream pop and experimental electronica into their work. Coren's lyrics sometimes touched on difficult subjects, which occasionally stirred discussion, as with the song 'The Black Sheep' and its themes around mental health.

Coren and Tuffy have remained the core of the project. They've worked with other artists, including DJ Shadow and The Walkmen, bringing different textures to their music. Songs like 'It Will Rain' and 'Only Teardrops' continued to build on their atmospheric, melody-driven approach.
