A Finnish band that blended folk, punk, and hard rock into something distinctly their own.
For a sense of their range, try 'Aate' and 'Raudanlujat'. They give you a good feel for what the band does.
They came out of Lappeenranta in the early 1990s mixing Finnish folk with punk and hard rock when most metal acts weren't doing that. Songs like 'Minä Olen' got noticed for lyrics that questioned authority. Their sound has always felt like its own thing, not quite fitting the usual metal categories.
The self-titled debut arrived in 1999, followed by 'Hulluuden Highway' which helped build their audience. The lineup shifted a lot around 2006-2009, with original members leaving. Jouni Hynynen paused things briefly before restarting with new musicians in 2011.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
