Kreposuk

Kreposuk was a Parisian musical collective that formed in the late 1970s around Jacques Haudemer and vocalist Marie-Ange Labourey. They worked in experimental territory, releasing their debut album 'L'Ailleurs' in 1981. Their sound was often described as ethereal, with lyrics that tended toward the cryptic.

Their 1983 album 'Andromadère' gave them their most recognizable track. The title song 'Andromadère' became something of an anthem within their niche, a slow, haunting piece built around Labourey's voice and Haudemer's arrangements. Other songs from their catalog, like 'Ar Rebech' and 'D'où tu viens', followed a similar atmospheric path.

Kreposuk collaborated with other figures in French experimental music, including composer Pierre Henry. The group's lineup shifted over time, with Haudemer and Labourey as the consistent core. They maintained an unconventional approach that didn't aim for broad commercial appeal, which kept their profile specific to a certain audience interested in avant-garde work from that period in Paris.
