Even The Score

As he stepped off the train, nothing looked the same

And his face showed no concern, though he never would return

To the place he was born, to the place thats been a thorn

In the side of his dreams, I think I might know what he means

Dont you recognize his face? Hes the guy thats been misplaced

And I know I can relate, cuz nobody writes their fate

Can we resume this lie?

Can we resume all that we had?

I want it so bad

Dont you want what we had before?

Dont you want to know what they have in store for us?

Or should we wait until the third world war?

Until we finally get to even the score?

As he stepped into the rain, everyone could feel his pain

But they just watched him crash and burn, thinking how else will he learn?

So with a smile and a wave he began to walk away

He never found the words to say what he really felt that day

But he wanted them to know as they sat and watched him go

That his desperate, soulful eyes were never capable of lies
