Background notes

Archive material and source history

Kyeoshin came out of Los Angeles in the late 1990s. They were led by a frontman named Kye, and their music had a raw, aggressive quality that pulled from punk and alternative metal.

In 2001, they put out a debut album called 'Ashes of a Broken Creed.' The lead single from that record was 'Nice Day To Get Robbed,' which got them some national attention. The song's lyrics dealt with alienation and social injustice, and its blunt language drew criticism from some quarters.

Around 2003, the band was arrested on drug charges, which led to a break in their activity. Kye was known for being outspoken, which added to their reputation as a contentious group.
