L-Fudge came out of Hunts Point in the Bronx. Their 1994 debut album, 'A Night at Hunts Point,' gave the neighborhood a kind of unofficial soundtrack. The group's sound pulled from hip-hop, soul, and reggae, with songs like 'Bad Habits' and 'Rockin It' showing their range. They followed that debut with albums like 'East Coast Funk' in 1996 and 'The Next Level' in 1999.

Willie "Fluff" Boston handled lead vocals and lyrics, while Gregory "G. Smooth" Brown was on keyboards and production. Jerome "Jay" Jones played drums and Rodney "Rod" Davis was the bassist. In 1997, they were involved in a lawsuit over an unauthorized sample in a track called 'One Night Stand,' which touched on broader conversations about sampling in hip-hop at the time.

Their later work included the 2004 album 'Back to the Point.' While they faced some early criticism for explicit lyrics, the group's music, particularly 'A Night at Hunts Point,' kept a specific New York neighborhood in the conversation.
