La Crus formed in Italy in 1997, started by singer-songwriter Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi and guitarist Gianluca De Rubertis. They put out their first album the next year, simply called "La Crus." The band's lineup included Michele Marconi on bass and Claudio "Red" Rossi on drums at various points.
In 2000, they released the song "34 Anni," which became their most recognizable track. That same year they put out their second album, "Dentro a un sogno." They went on to release three more studio albums: "La Valle dei Re" in 2003, "10" in 2007, and "La Bassa" in 2013.
Their catalog includes songs like "Angela," "Estate," and "E Penso A Te." Giovanardi's lyrics often dealt with personal and emotional themes, which connected with listeners in Italy.
