L.A. Guns

L.A. Guns formed in 1983 when guitarist Tracii Guns and vocalist Phil Lewis came together. They built a following on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, playing a gritty, aggressive style of hard rock that drew from punk and glam influences. Their self-titled debut album arrived in 1988, featuring the single "Sex Action," which helped push them toward a wider audience. Songs like "Over the Edge" and "Bad Luck Charm" from later records kept that raw, energetic sound alive.

The band's lineup shifted frequently over time, with Lewis leaving and returning multiple times. Other members like guitarist Mick Cripps and drummer Steve Riley passed through the group. They kept recording through the '90s and 2000s, putting out albums such as "Cocked & Loaded" in 1989 and "Hollywood Forever" in 2012. Tracks like "Girl You Turn Me On" and "Frequency" show they never really softened their approach.

L.A. Guns never became a steady, stable operation, but they maintained a cult fanbase drawn to their unpolished, rebellious rock. They still tour occasionally, and their early work, especially the debut, remains a touchstone for fans of that late-'80s Sunset Strip sound.
