La Makina

La Makina was an electronic music band from Alicante, Spain, active in the late 1990s and early 2000s. They were led by DJ Juan Antonio Fuentes, who performed as DJ Juanma. Their sound became associated with a specific style of Spanish dance music that came to be called Makina.

Their debut album "El Sonido del Silencio" came out in 1999 and included the track "Nadie Se Muere," which became one of their most recognizable songs. Other releases like "La Makina 2000" and "La Makina Total" followed in the early 2000s. Songs like "No Me Digas Que No" and "Estan Bailando" were typical of their uptempo, synth-driven approach.

The band's live shows were known for high energy, though this sometimes drew criticism from those who felt they encouraged excessive partying. Their lineup included other DJs like Jose Antonio Romero and Luis Serrano at various points, and they worked with vocalist Sonia González on some material. Their music found a dedicated audience in Spain's club scene during that period.
