La Rondalla de Saltillo formed in 1981 in Saltillo, Mexico, starting as a group of university students playing traditional Mexican serenades. They gradually worked more contemporary elements into their sound, which helped them build a following beyond their hometown.
Their song 'Wendoline' came out in 1989 and became their most recognizable track. It's a ballad about a romance between a woman named Wendoline and a man from a different social class. Other songs like 'Adoro' and 'Amor Eterno' also became staples in their repertoire of romantic ballads.
They've released albums including 'Canciones de Mi Madre' in 1989 and 'Sentimiento Mexicano' in 1992. Sergio Lozano has served as director and vocalist, with Raúl Nava and Alejandro Dueñas on guitar, Rubén López on bass, and Adrián Pérez on drums.
