Lab III formed in Porto Alegre in 1994 with Pedro Pelotas on vocals, Fábio Tucunduva on bass, Marcelo Frota on guitar, and Rodrigo Tavares on drums. Their debut album 'St. Patrick's Day' came out in 1998, but it was the 2001 follow-up 'Planeta Mono' that really connected with listeners. That album included 'Até o Mundo Acabar,' a song that found a wide audience in Brazil.
Pelotas left the band in 2008, and Diego Castro later joined as vocalist. They've kept releasing albums like 'Quatro Luas' in 2009 and 'A Vida É Agora' in 2013. Another track, 'Clareou,' also appears among their popular songs.
The group has continued performing with Tucunduva, Frota, Tavares, and Castro. They've been recognized with awards including the Prêmio Multishow Brasileiro for Best Rock Band.
