Labelle Joane was a French band fronted by Sylvie Joane, who had classical training. Their debut album "Dis-Moi Où?" came out in 1976, and its title track became their most recognizable song. The group included musicians like keyboardist Alain Moureau and drummer Jean-Louis Alfonsi at the start.
They followed that album with "Le Jardin d'Oiseaux" in 1977 and "Les Enfants de la Nuit" in 1978. Their sound mixed pop, rock, and classical touches, and they developed a following without chasing mainstream trends. Songs like "J'étais sa chanson" and "L'imaginaire" showed their range.
The band's lineup shifted over time. Moureau left in 1979, replaced by Jean-Claude Bouchard, and Alfonsi was succeeded by Jean-Pierre Fouque.
