Lacuna Coil formed in Milan in 1994, originally called Ethereal before settling on their current name. Vocalist Cristina Scabbia and guitarist Andrea Ferro started the band, which released its debut album 'In A Reverie' in 1999. Their 2002 album 'Comalies' drew attention for its artwork and themes, though it found commercial success regardless.
Over the next decade, they put out albums like 'Karmacode' in 2006 and 'Dark Adrenaline' in 2012, touring with bands like Iron Maiden. They worked with Apocalyptica on 'Our Truth' and had Dave Mustaine appear on a track. Guitarist Cristiano Migliore left in 2014, but the group kept going.
In 2019 they released 'Black Anima,' and marked their 25th anniversary in 2021 with a live show and the compilation '120 Days.' Their songs include 'Cake,' 'Carriage,' and 'Flower.'
